I have committed what I once considered a cardinal sin! I listened to Christmas music BEFORE Thanksgiving!!! I feel like a terrible person…but yet not really. :)
My two favorite music groups came out with Christmas albums that were made available in early/mid-November, and I couldn’t help myself. I HAD to buy them. So I did...and I listened to them before Thanksgiving…multiple times…and I liked it! :)
And so, I thought I would share them with you this month. The first one is “Campfire Christmas (Vol. 1)” by Rend Collective. I’ve talked about Rend Collective before and how much I love their music. Their Christmas album is no different! And the best part is that they put “Vol. 1” in the title, which means there will be more to come in the future! This has many of the classic carols, but with a different style. Great instrumentation as always! Go to YouTube and search “Rend Collective Christmas” and you’ll find several of their songs form the album. Or just go to iTunes and buy it…you won’t be disappointed!
The other album I bought is from Pentatonix. They are not categorized in the “Christian music” genre, but on this album they sing several of the classic carols as well. They are a great A Capella group…no instruments, just voices. And it’s wonderful! This album is titled for their original song (which is VERY good) “That’s Christmas to Me”. They have another Christmas album that they put out last year called PTXmas. Go get both of these albums too! AT LEAST go to YouTube and listen to "That’s Christmas to Me”.
Happy Listening!
